Giving Tuesday: How Your Gift Strengthens Whatcom County
Today on Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating what happens when a community chooses to show up for one another. Every year brings new challenges—and every year, the Whatcom Family YMCA steps forward with one guiding belief: everyone deserves support, connection, and opportunities to grow.
In 2025, more families turned to us for child care, more neighbors needed food deliveries, and more young people sought a place where they felt seen and safe. What moved us most was how our community responded. Volunteers, donors, partners, and staff worked side-by-side to make sure no one had to face these challenges alone.
Where Your Giving Made a Difference This Year
Strengthening families:
Our Early Learning Centers expanded access so parents could go to work and kids could begin each day in a safe, nurturing space.
Supporting youth:
More than 2,000 teens found connection and mentorship through after-school and drop-in programs designed to help them build confidence and community.
Delivering food & care:
Our food delivery routes continued bringing weekly food boxes—and meaningful conversation—to neighbors who can’t easily access a food bank, including homebound seniors.
