The Y is committed to ensuring that every youth has the opportunity to become a healthy, contributing member of society. The Y offers teens a safe environment where they can develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
We offer activities and programs for teens that provide them with academic assistance, life skills, healthy habits, positive social experiences, all while having fun.
Exciting news for the 2022-2023 school year!
- Any teen that participates regularly in YMCA programs will receive a FREE Youth Membership!
- Our 2022-2023 programs are offered at low to no cost to provide low barrier access to Whatcom County teens.
Will offer both drop in session available at the Downtown YMCA, as well as weekly session at area schools.
Partnering with local Middle Schools, participants have the opportunity to come visit the Y for activities and team building.
This free, year-round program builds character, develops life skills, and uses technology to prepare young people for the road ahead.
Teens, ages 12-15, are able to meet with a trainer and learn how to properly use the Wellness Center Equipment.
Youth & Government teaches leadership and communication skills by examining public policy in a safe and non-partisan environment.
Adventure Camp's Junior Counselor Program provides teens with the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and gain hands-on experience with children under the mentorship of Adventure Camp staff.
Challengers will be diving into our weekly themes to see what learning can happen when they step outside their comfort zone.
