Virtual Active Older Adult (AOA) Schedule

Active Older Adult virtual classes allow you to work out from home! 
 
Click the class title to join class. This will prompt you to sign into Y360 and then select the phrase that says "Click here to join class!" If you are having trouble signing into Y360, please be sure you have an account by following the steps below the schedule. If this does not work, please contact Karrie Inman, kinman@whatcomymca.org.  You need to have set up your Y360 account to access classes.

Stretch with Beth

This class is geared towards active older adults, or those who have some mobility challenges. Improve your flexibility to improve mobility, decrease risk of injury, and enable better movement. Please be aware that stretches are done standing and on the floor.
 

Balance with Jessica 

What better way to start your week than getting balanced? We will spend 45 minutes working on ankle mobility and stability, hip stability, hip adductors and abductors, posture and more. Both static (still) and dynamic (moving) balance exercises will be included.

 

Cardio/Strength with Mary

You'll be lead you through a 5-8 minute warm-up, and then we will circuit through 3-5 minutes of cardio and strength routines to help you get ready for the weekend. Class will finish with a nice stretch. Dumbbells, band or tubing are recommended, but not necessary.
 

Chair Yoga with Beth

This chair yoga class will include some focused breathing to start with; some seated and standing yoga moves and positions to help us with strength and flexibility; and finish with a guided relaxation. Make sure you have a very stable chair, ideally with no arms, and have a clear floor in front and to the side of you.
 

Cardio Party with Tara

Hey Active Older Adults! Ready to get your groove on? Join us for a fun cardio workout. Class will start with a warm up for 5-8 minutes followed by a heart-healthy mix of both dancing and non-dancing cardio movements. We will cool down and finish with a gentle stretch.

If you have never set up your account, please follow these directions:

  1. Go-to the YMCA360.org login page.
  2. Enter the zip code associated with your Y membership (98225), and click continue.
  3. Select your home branch from the resulting list (Whatcom Family YMCA).
  4. Enter the email address associated with your Y membership. If you do not know that email address, please contact our welcome desk staff, 360-733-8630.
  5. They must confirm your account by following the on-screen instructions to verify your account. Go to your email where you will have received a verification code to then input  on the confirmation page.
  6. Each time you are signed out you will need to log back in and also go to your email for a verification code to finish signing in.

If you sign in and then it is asking for a verification code, you'll need to go to your email inbox, take that verification code, and input it into the prompt.
