Running Camps

Perfect for kids who enjoy running and being outside, this camp combines movement, exploration, and discovery. Campers participate in guided runs through local natural areas while learning about the environment, building confidence, and supporting one another along the way. It’s a fun, active experience that encourages healthy habits, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors.

Both elementary and middle School age camps are available!

Trail Blazers Camps

Around Whatcom in 5 Days | 2nd-5th Grade

July 6-10

This summer camp is designed for active elementary-aged kids who enjoy running and outdoor adventure. This camp blends fitness with outdoor exploration in a fun and encouraging setting. Campers will challenge themselves while supporting friends as they blaze new trails, make memories, and have a blast outdoors!

An Amazing Race | 2nd-5th Grade

August 3-7

This summer camp is designed for active elementary-aged kids who enjoy running and outdoor adventure. This camp blends fitness with outdoor exploration in a fun and encouraging setting. Campers will challenge themselves while supporting friends as they blaze new trails, make memories, and have a blast outdoors!

Trails to Tides | 6th-8th Grade

July 13-17

This summer camp is designed for active youth who enjoy running, outdoor adventure, and discovery. Campers will participate in guided trail runs leading to local beaches timed with low tide, where they’ll explore tide flats, learn about coastal ecosystems, and enjoy discovery time. With an emphasis on endurance, navigation, environmental awareness, and teamwork, this camp blends fitness with hands-on outdoor exploration in a fun and supportive setting.

Trail to Lakes | 6th-8th Grade

August 10-14

This summer camp is designed for active youth who enjoy trail running and outdoor adventure. Campers will take part in guided runs to local lakes, where they’ll explore natural areas and learn about local ecosystems. With a focus on endurance, confidence, environmental awareness, and teamwork, this camp blends fitness and nature exploration in a fun, supportive environment!


Girls on the Run Camps!

Our week long summer camp allows girls to build self-esteem, make friends, set goals, and feel accomplished after the end-of-the-week 5K around beautiful Lake Padden

Campers entering grades 3rd-6th are invited to participate in a condensed version of the character-building program. We combine the best of Girls on the Run with all the fun of camp! During the week-long sessions, girls will build friendships in fun and inclusive settings and learn important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and trail exploration.

Both Girls on the Run and Trail Blazers Camps run Monday through Friday, 9am - 4 pm

  • Girls on the Run: Anyone identifying as a girl or gender expansive entering 3rd-6th grade in fall of 2026
  • Trail Blazers Elementary Camps: Youth entering grades 2nd-5th in fall 2026.
  • Trail Blazers Middle School Camps: Youth entering grades 6th-8th in fall 2026.

Yes, the Y is committed to ensuring all families access quality and enriching summer camp programs. The Y provides financial assistance and a sliding fee schedule.

Five-day weekly fees: $300 for Y members or $350 for Community members

A deposit of $25 per week, per camper, is due upon registration. Payments are drafted on the Monday two weeks before each camp session. For example, for camp starting on June 22, payment will be drafted on June 8.

All summer camp cancellations and changes must be submitted to this form by May 1 to be eligible for a full refund minus the deposit. Verbal cancellations or cancellations submitted through other channels will not be accepted.

All deposits made during summer camp registration are non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation date. Deposits are non-transferable between programs and/or participants. 

No refunds or credits will be given for absences, withdrawals, disciplinary suspensions, or removal of a camper. Failure to complete attendance requirements, including electronic forms and waivers or payment, that result in days missed from camp will not be refunded or credited.

Weekly day camp fees will not be pro-rated, refunded, or credited for missed days of camp in a week.

Exceptions to this policy may only be made in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the organization’s leadership.
