The YMCA's Intergenerational Space is Your Family's Fan Zone Home Base
When soccer excitement comes to Bellingham this summer, the Whatcom Family YMCA is making sure every generation has a seat at the party.
Our Intergenerational Space on the main floor at 1256 N. State Street will transform into a vibrant, family-friendly Fan Zone destination - a welcoming alternative to downtown venues that keeps the whole family in mind, from toddlers to grandparents.
A Space Built for Everyone
Gather around multiple large screens to watch the matches live while enjoying activities designed for all ages. Challenge each other to Giant Connect Four, foosball, and ping-pong. Unwind with puzzles and tabletop games. Get creative with arts and crafts. However your family celebrates, there's something here for you.
The atmosphere will be festive and full of community spirit, complete with snacks, refreshments, and decorations that make every match feel like an event.

Grant funding is helping make this experience accessible to all by covering FIFA licensing fees for legal game broadcasts, plus food, decorations, and refreshments. Because at the Y, everyone belongs.

Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Grab your spot for any - or all - of these upcoming matches:
- Friday, June 12 at 6pm - USA Match
- Friday, June 19 at 12pm - USA Match
- Thursday, June 25 at 7pm - USA Match (Note: Kid Zone closes early this day)
- Saturday, June 27 at 2pm - Panama vs. England
- Saturday, July 18 at 2pm - Bronze Final
- Sunday, July 19 at 12pm - THE FINAL
