How the Y is Showing Up for Whatcom County
A closer look at community impact in 2025
Every year brings new challenges to our community, and every year the Whatcom Family YMCA steps forward with one guiding belief: everyone deserves support, connection, and opportunities to grow.
This year, we saw more families ask for help with child care, more neighbors needing food support, and more young people seeking a place where they feel seen. What is powerful is how our community responded. Volunteers, donors, partners, and staff came together to make sure no one had to face these challenges alone.
Where We Focused Our Energy This Year
Strengthening families: Our Early Learning Centers continued to expand access, helping parents stay employed and giving kids a safe and nurturing start every day.
Supporting youth: More than 2,000 teens found connection and mentorship in our growing teen programs, including after-school spaces designed to help them feel safe, supported, and confident.
Delivering food and connection: Our food delivery routes continued to reach neighbors who cannot easily access a food bank, turning weekly drop-offs into moments of care, conversation, and community.

- $2,500 gives underserved teens daily access to a place where they belong, with mentorship and community.
