HOPE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE
We know our world is hurting, and our resources and resolve are stretched to the limit. Yet our shared human spirit allows us to hope for a brighter future. A future we can create by lifting up one another and our community in our time of need. Since March, the YMCA has been working to do just that, but we could not be here for ALL without our committed supporters.
Our membership has already been significantly reduced due to the crisis. But as we face another potentially long shutdown and a huge financial hurdle, donors will be instrumental in ensuring the Y’s future—they already have provided us with so much this year and gave us the ability to pivot and immediately respond to critical needs. But now we must lean in more as there is still a long road ahead.
Your donation matters now more than ever! See how you can change lives:
YOU can prevent hunger for individuals, seniors, and families in need.
“The YMCA stepping up with their vans has been a critical part of this [Food Bank food delivery] program. They deliver to east Whatcom County every week, and that has made all the difference.”
—Summer Starr, Opportunity Council Volunteer Coordinator
YOU can keep children safely learning and provide peace of mind for working families.
“The Y has helped me a lot to manage working and being able to help [my son] with schooling by stepping in and being that school teacher that kids need since parents have to work. I have no idea how I would have made it [without the Y].”
—Parent, School Age Assisted Learning
YOU can improve the lives of cancer survivors and help them reclaim their total health.
“LIVESTRONG is an instrumental program, and the Y has seamlessly brought it to life online. I count on logging on to keep myself in the best of health post cancer. Thank you for the flexibility and resourcefulness of your staff.”
—Cancer Survivor, LIVESTRONG
YOU can instill confidence in young girls and provide a sense of normalcy.
“We are grateful Girls on the Run is helping fill the huge socio-emotional void that currently exists and allows kids to engage with each other and a mentor in a setting that feels like a touchstone to normal. As an infectious diseases physician, I felt completely safe with my daughter participating. Thank you for your amazing commitment to sustaining this valuable program.”
