Now more than ever, the Y needs your help!

We have received requests from Governor Inslee, local officials, the health department and the medical community to help in this time of need.

The YMCA is providing emergency childcare for first responders: EMS, medical providers, law enforcement and fire, and pharmacy/grocery workers for grades K-5th. This safety net issue is very real and we need to assist these first responders insure they can perform their important jobs to keep all of us safe.

Furthermore, the impact on school closures goes beyond the loss of classroom instruction. Some children receiving free and reduced meals experience hunger when schools close and school-provided meals are not accessible. To help serve this population, the Y is a partner with the Whatcom County Food Security Task Force and is ready to address this urgent situation.

We are also providing LIVE virtual senior fitness classes. Everyday, we have had nearly 100 seniors take part in classes with our local Y instructors!

For over 120 years the Whatcom Family YMCA has stepped up in times of need. Our programming helps break down barriers of low-income families and individuals in our community. We’re still here for those who need us the most. We need to continue our efforts and we need your help.
