Summer Adventure Camp was a Hit

Fun for All

As another summer has come to a close, we are happy to share that we served over 400 Whatcom County youth in YMCA Camps, a significant increase over last year’s numbers. Committed Y camp counselors facilitated the magic, ensuring every child had the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive during the summer months.

And for the first time in Y Adventure Camp history, and thanks to a generous partnership with Saturna Capital, we held two weeks of camp at Camp Saturna, a 133-acre environmental education camp. Spending time at this beautiful and interactive site was definitely a highlight of the summer for many of our campers.

Due to generous donors, the Y was able to provide fifty children with financial assistance to attend YMCA Camps! We responded to working parents’ needs for enriching childcare during the summer months — and  their generosity meant ALL children who enrolled with our program were provided safe spaces, regardless of their financial situation.

Here is just one example of how your partnership with the Y touches lives in our community:

“Thank you to you and all of your staff for all your hard work and all your tireless efforts in caring for our children, while also teaching them valuable lessons about the importance of respect, teamwork and being good citizens of humanity and stewards of the environment. We're grateful to have the YMCA Bellingham! Great job!!!”
