Advance Care Planning

About Advance Care Planning

90% of people say that talking with loved ones about end-of-life care is important, but 27% have actually done so.

~The Conversation Project National Survey (2013).

The YMCA, in partnership with the Northwest Regional Council, is making this conversation easier by offering members an opportunity to learn about Advance Directives.  According to the Washington State Hospital System and the Washington State Medical Association, "Advance care planning is for all adults 18 and older. It is talking about future health care decisions if you had a sudden event, like a serious accident or illness, and could not make your own decisions. A person close to you would need to make choices for you."
